The Nest Mould minimizes the chance of lost eggs. Especially with swifts, eggs outside the immediate nesting-site are not further incubated and will not develop.
The Nest Mould is placed opposite the entrance-hole far back in the nesting chamber, with its steps facing towards the entrance. Typically, the back and at least one side of the Nest-Mould rests directly against the nesting-chamber walls, so push it all the way to the far corner until it touches the rear wall(s). However, a max. distance to the entrance of 30 - 40cm will favor the acceptance.
The special feature of this Nest Mould is that it can be divided into two sperate parts, allowing it to be placed through narrow openings in the nestbox or nesting-site.
Originally developed specifically for the Type 17 Swiftboxes, it works also very well with other models or natural nesting sites where no other mould can be inserted due to the small opening.

Suitable for these Swift Boxes:

Swiftboxes Type 17 (all versions with removable entrance rose) and other nesting aids with an interior space larger than 14 x 18 cm like the swift boxes 1MF, No. 14, 15, 16 and 16S.
Required opening for insertion: from 100 mm diameter or rectangular min. 50 x 110 mm.
